startup no password

hi i am runnin win xp pro with all the latest update
but i have set a password as the admin but when my computer loads up it skips the part where u type the password in and just loads up as normal which defeates the point in havin a passwords se

Goto Control Panel - > User Accounts -> Advanced -> select the check box for "Requires users to press Cltr-Alt-Delete". This should solve the problem
