startup group

under msconfig, startup tab, I am trying to turn off some
programs running that don't need to be, the only problem
is XP will not allow me to expand the window to show the
full program file line, is there a website or service
that shows every program being used, so that I may safely
uncheck to enhance performance.
 
Move the cursor over the titlebar, when you see the cursor change to a
horozontal arrow bysecting a verticle line, you are over a divider, drag the
divider until you can see the rest of the line.

The startup window is a little difficult to work with. The header columns
are resizable and will allow you to see much (if not all) of what's there.

Another way to see these file names and locations is to use Programs>
Accessories> System Tools> System Information. Click the + next to the
Software Environment branch. Select the Startup Programs item on the left
to see the list of startup items displayed on the right.

MVP Doug Knox has come up with a nifty little tool called Startup Programs
Tracker that I've tried and like very much:
