Startup error

When I start Excel by using a shortcut, I am asked to enter the Windows XP cd
to install the program. However, it is already installed on my system, and I
do not have a Windows XP cd. When I click cancel, Excel won't start. When I
go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Excel.exe, I get the same
message, but when I click cancel, Excel does start. How can I solve this
problem?

Are you sure it is not requesting the OFFICE XP cd?

Oh, sorry you are right. There is a request for the Microsoft Office XP
Professional cd.

Hi Marien,

I suspect a problem with the Excel installation. Is this an Office install that came
bundled with the computer itself (OEM)?

If so, you need to contact the manufacturer for replacement disks.
