startmenu empty

my favourite programs list in my start menu are empty...
i think it's some kind of bug but i dont know what program is causing it.
and this is not about the start menu option because i have remember
favourite programs enabled.
ived tried opening more than 10 apps and it still wont show up in the
favourite programs list. it's starting to get annoying, has someone
encountered this before? or does anyone know what i can do with this?

OS: Vista Home Premium

Yeah, same here. I turned it off accidently then turned it back on, but
by then the damage was done and it won't show the list :(

Ah, found it:

r-click task bar > properties > Start Menu tab > Custimize... > Start
menu size > make sure number is not 0
