Only as a last resort. It is a lot more work than it looks to input
everything all over again. There are many programs that will delete unused
programs, virus's and clean up your computer. I think it is a lot smarter
to use them, than go back to square one.
I have had to start from a low level format a couple of
time, but only after the hard filled up and the overflow
wrote onto some system files. the cleanup programs, such
as Norton disk doctor would help most HD.
