Starting a service with "Logon as" This account" errors

I have a Win 2ksp4 Server which I need to get a service started with a
different login account other than the "Local System account". The
service starts just fine with the "local system account", but once I
switch it to "This Account" and type in a user account and password,
hit apply, then try to start the service I get the following error.
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK
to terminate the application."
I click OK, then the following error shows up.
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control
request in a timely fashion."
This is not happening to just one service, I have tried it with
several services and it does the same thing on each one. I have also
tried several different account including domain accounts and local
accounts.
There is nothing listed under the "Deny logon as service" in the local
security policy and there are the correct accounts under "logon as
service".

I am not sure if it is relevant or not but we have recently gone
through a domain migration and the server name has changed. This
server is used primarily as a file server.

Does anyone have any ideas of things I can check??
