StartEx, the best launcher, categorizes your programs in colorful
groups,
so you can easily find what you need.

★Support Drag&Drop. Adding a new icon is as simple as dragging it
onto the menu, and you can also move items between categories in the
same way.

★Support AutoHide. StartEx hides in the upper left corner of your
desktop, and reveals a small yellow button when your mouse touches the
edge of the screen. Clicking the button reveals a customizable drop
menu that lets you launch your favorite programs, organized in
categories.

★No adware, no spyware.

On my Start Menu, I'd run out of colors!

Well, actually the best is already in your System32 folder if you use
Windows ME or before. In the case of Windows XP, there is a bit of
inconvenience. Go look for PROGMAN.EXE. It does precisely what you
want to do with StartEx. In the case of XP users, you will have to
go to your previous discs before XP to retrieve PROGMAN.EXE. The
version coming with XP is deliberately emasculated by microsoft to
total impotence .. it does nothing. Look for an earlier version.
Now, give me your attention: because Windows XP is file-protected by
the SFC premise, you cannot merely change or delete the existing XP
version of PROGMAN.EXE with another. It always gets replaced by the
SFC. Just rename an older PROGMAN.EXE to something like PRGMGR.EXE and
place it in the System32 folder, and use that. Totally safe, and does
what you want. Learn by experimentation with it. There is no DOCS.
I keep my PRGMGR.EXE shortcut icon on the desktop.
