Just bought a new emachine with windows xp on it. My question is each time
she logs on AIM and aol explorer 9.0 launchs automatically. How do I stop
these programs from starting automatically at start up?

Hi,

Just goes to start-- run and type msconfig .

select the startup tab and uncheck the programe you want to disabl
during statup.Click ok and restart the machine.

MSCONFIG (as has been implied) will do it eventually. This is simpler from
years of experience.

There should be settings for startup options in both AIM and AOL. Check the
"preferences" settings of each program.
