Start-up problem

Hello NG.

Since a few weeks I have updated my PC from 1 x 128 MB to 2 x 256 MB DIMM SD
RAM
Since then I have a strange problem, the PC dos´nt start-up after switching
on.
He don´t even come to the BIOS settings.
I have to remove the 2nd memory module and replace it, after than it starts
up.
After that no problem.
Next morning starting up gives the same problem.

Some data:

My PC is aDELL Dimension 4100 with P III 1 Ghz
Intel motherboard D 815 EEA
3 years old and till some weeks ago with128 MB in the first slot

The second slot I cleaned first (Nicotine) and than put the 2 new modules of
256 MB in the brackets
PC did´nt start-up.
Removed 2nd module, start up with no problem.
Changed a couple times with and without 2nd module, with the 2nd module no
start-up, than send the 2nd module back to supplier.
Temporarly put the old 128 MB module in the 2nd slot and worked with it 10
days without problems.
After 10 days a new 256 module came and placed it, start-up with no problem.
Next morning, no start-up, remove the 2nd module and replaced it, start-up
OK.
This repeating so nearly each morning.

Can anyone give me advise
Thanks for any comments.

According to Intel's site, this board has 4 diagnostic lights. Have you
looked at those and compared them with the displays in the manual?
