Start Up Menu Program Name Font Size

I have Windows XP Media Center. Somehow I've changed the size of the font
for program titles on my Start Menu. It isn't that I have too many programs
or that the program titles are too long, they used to fit in two columns on
the menu (in a normal font size) and I haven't added any programs to change
that --- I just changed the font of the existing program list somehow (and
can't figure out how in order to reverse it). Now the same number of
programs is displayed in really large font and because of that it extends to
a fourth column on my screen when I click Start > Programs. I can't make out
the programs on the last column. My DPI is set to Normal so I know that
isn't it. I've altered my Program Menu to "scroll" temporarily so that I can
at least see the full list of my programs, but I want my normal font size
back for my Start Menu. Can anyone help?

Check Control Panel | Display | Appearance tab ... and check what is set for
Font Size near bottom of window.
It should say Normal.

Hi,

Have you tried right-clicking the desktop => Properties => Appearance
tab => Advanced button => 'Menu' from the drop-down list, and change
the font size?

That Menu item does not control the Start Menu. I spent too much time on
trying to get Fonts right on the STart Menu for my Aunt's system using Large
Fonts.

Sounds like they have Very Large Fonts turned on.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that doesn't work. I know there is a
special place to customize the Program Menu; months ago my sister and I did
hers, but we came across it my accident and I can't recall where. I have a
Windows XP for Dummies book but I can't find the answer in there either.
I'll keep hoping for the right answer. Thank again for your time.

Hi,

Try do following -

1. Right click "start" button, select "Properties"
2. Click "Customize" and select "Advanced" tab
3. In center of this window you see list of options "Start menu items:"
4. Scroll this list and find "Scroll Programs" item. check it.
5. Press, Ok, then Apply

This is not solve problem with fonts but help run programs.
