Start up errors

Hi, Can anyone help me?? When I start my PC with XP home
edition the following errors occur. I have copied them
down word for word

1) RUNNER ERROR - Invalid backweb application id"7288971"

2) RUNNER ERROR - Invalid backweb application id"4448364"

3) Microsoft visual C ++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program files\Common files\updmgr\updmgr.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate
it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's
support team for more information.

4) Cannot open my Control Panel, when I click on the icon
the PC freezes for approx 30 seconds then returns with no
change!!!!!

I would very much appreciate any help/adviced for the
above problems.
