i have win xp pro sp2 and all updates from windows update.
yesterday i realized that the classic windows search isnt working.
when i want to search something it writes "unexpected error | Action could
not be completed"
then i tried to fix this by using a tweak program (Tweak UI) and switched on
"use classic search assistent" - when i clicked on "search" button, it wont
find anything !! not even *.exe !! nothing... :(( the search takes about 2
seconds...
drive is not indexed, indexing service is disabled (was disabled on previous
installation of windows and everything was working fine)
now, im using a simillar searching program, but the windows searcher is
better...
i just want to use classic search in windows...i fixed every problem by
myself but this is too much even for me :((
please help

Give this a shot:

Restore Classic Search in Windows XP:
http://www.petri.co.il/restore_classic_search_in_windows_xp.htm

That might be the ticket you are looking for. Maybe in the midst of trying
to get it to work it caused some sort of error or a registry entry to be
deleted? I'd check the above site.

I know what it is for. The idea is to turn on the regular search and then
turn it back off again letting it (hopefully) reset itself. In addition see
Kelly's site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_s.htm Scroll down and find
the search doesn't work section.
