Right Click the All Programs button and select Explorer All Users from the
menu. This will open a Windows Explorer window with the Start Menu
highlighted. Right below the Start Menu that is highlighted, click on the +
sign by the Programs folder. In the right side window, right click an empty
spot and select New/Folder from the pop up menu. Tap the Backspace key to
delete the text and type in a name for the folder. This will be one of the
categories that you create.
Name it something like Games. This Games folder will now appear in the left
window. Drag all of the shortcuts that relate to this category in the right
window and drop them into this new folder, in the left window. Perform the
same process for any other categories you wish to create.
Now, when you click the Start/All Programs menu, the categories will be
shown and when you click a category, all of the items in that folder will
cascade out to display.
