My start menu includes an icon for a program I do not use anymore and I can
not delete it.

Right clicking offers delete as an option, it just won't go away.

Any suggestions ?

Hi,

Right click on the Start button and select Explore all Users.
Under Start menu, expand Programs. If you see it there, try deleting it.
Then check your Start menu.

Help... when my system 'boots up' it places a whole bunch of program icons on
the 'task bar' - right side by the clock (things like AIM, Yahoo Messenger,
etc.) that I don't want there - I'm having the darndest time trying to find
out how to stop them from being there.... they don't show up in the 'start
menu' programs folder... I'm at a loss...

Thank you

1. Remove all viruses and other forms of malware from your computer.
2. Open the programs in question and search through their menus, looking for
the option that starts the program with Windows. Turn off that option.
3. Remove shortcuts to the program from the Startup folder (Start > All
Programs > Startup).
4. Contact the programs' technical support.
