Start menu - most used programs

Hi

Windows XP Pro SP1 fully patched

The start menu displays a list of my 8 most used programs. This is very
useful to me, but can anyone tell me if there is a log kept somewhere that
complies the number of times each program is run? My reasons are to tweak
this log. If I buy a new program - for instance replace frontpage with
Dreamweaver, I would want to get FP off the start menu asap, not wait for a
few months until the auto count drops behind other programs.

Right click on the most used program name and choose: remove from this list.

Yes, there is, but it's stored in the registry and not in user editable
form.

My reasons are to tweak

Just use the 'remove item from the list' feature.

That will work unless/until you reopen the removed program. Then you might
have to reremove it. Tweakui may have your FP listed with a checkbox to
exclude from this list or see
