start menu items have been breeding

hey,

well there isnt a special place for the startmenu so i
put it here...
my start menu has sprouted loads of new items that were
never there before (after re-installing XP)
for some things there is the usual folder and then
ANOTHER folder showing (or containing?) all the files in
the programs directory.

i was gonna ask microsoft for help but ill save my 2nd
(out of 2) requests for something more serious.

what is up with my start menu?
i go to the place where its stored, and i get exactly
what should be there, no extra files or folders, is
there a setting about including the programs root i need
to change?

Not sure what your are trying to ask? go to that place
where your "Start Menu" (Documents and Settings) and open
the "All Users" folder. That will be where everything
that is installed is.
