start menu gone

I lost the start menu. I tried to bring the mouse way down to the area it was
and drag it back up with little luck. I tried to control esc to see if that
worked,no luck. Heres a run down of what I was doing when this happened. I
was loading a program, and the computer froze, I hit control,alt,delete to
try to stop the programs and was going to try to shut down,everything just
froze up. So I just turned the computer off by holding the power button for
10 seconds. Turned it back on and then saw that the start menu was gone. So
with all of that said, I dont know where or how to find my control panel etc
to try to see if I can fix it there. I just really want my start menu back,
without having to do a whole lot of troublesome work.

Which program, was this display driver related? Either way, post which. In
