START IN MS DOS

How to start (laptop) in MS DOS mode?
Reason is somebody deleted "\WINNT\system32\c_1252.nls"
file, so I have to copy that from flopy drive.
Win 2000.
COMPAQ laptop.

issue.

As was mentioned already, there is no DOS in Windows 2000 but you can boot
to a safe command prompt by pressing F8 during the boot up process. The
timing of pressing F8 can be kind of tricky, it may take a few tries. When
you get it right you should get a menu of boot choices including one for a
command prompt.
