Hi,
One of my systems crashed when we moved it. I refused to boot
complaining that it could not find ntfs.sys. Reloading this file from
the CD did not help. So I ended up booting from the CD and running
chkdsk/r. That fixed the system and I was able to boot off the hard
drive.
However, now the system is strange in several ways.
1) When I open my computer it takes 30 seconds or longer to come up.
Then, when I open disk C is shows the "these files are hidden" screen.
I can view the files and they seem to be intact. 2) Another weird
occurance is that if I go to control panel and press "Switch to Classic
View" nothing happens.
3) If you click on Start, everthing shows up in the right hand column,
but not the left. The left column with it's MRUs is completely blank.
Any thoughts?
