Hi guys and (girls), I have a problem with windows XP
Standby shut down option. Its dissapeared..!! (greyed
out) I've checked my cmos settings and stanby/hibernation
is enabled. Its worked fine in the past. (windows XP
Pro,Asus A7N8X Motherboard)

Thank you, Fedex al

According to Maureen Goldman, video drivers could be the culprit.
And MS Updates generously offer them, whether you need them or not.
Have you done an update lately? Or added any new drivers?
Can you do a system restore, then add back Critical updates and any software
you lose in the Restore?

Try reinstalling your video drivers, which sometimes become corrupted
(you might want to see if newer ones are available). A reboot is
necessary afterwards.
