I have a new computer running two hard drives with a
mirror raid set-up. 1GB RAM and 2GB Processor.Running Win
XP Pro. When the computer gos into standby and I try to
wake it up the monitor comes on but everything has
frozen. Nothing works. Would really like to solve this
one so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

One or more device drivers are not supporting the standby function. Could be
video related, but just as easily it could be sound, keyboard, mb chips,
etc. This is one of those where you need to tinker with the drivers to get
the right set, and be prepared that there may be no "right" combination.
Standby doesn't always work the way we want it to with some hardware
combinations. Also, keep in mind that power management in Windows will
conflict with PM in the system BIOS, so you should disable the BIOS one (or
at least set it to custom). Also, see what energy state the BIOS is set to
standby to, it may help to bump up from an S3 to an S2 setting.

Did you try pushing the power button momentarily?
