Standby / Hibernate question

If I have scheduled tasks, such as virus scans etc. to run at a certain time
and my machine is in standby or hibernation, can these scheduled tasks still
run?

Using XP home, SP2 on Dell Dim 2350 with Pentium 4, 256 RAM memory.
