Can hackers get into a PC running on Windows XP Home Ed. -- even with a Norton firewall activated -- while the computer is in standby mode? The internet connection is always on via a cable modem unless the firewall is specifically locked, but I was wondering what happens to the PC's settings during standby that might affect security.
 
When the computer is on standby, it's asleep. Zzzzzzz. So nothing can really
happen to it unless someone wakes it up - you're leaving your firewall
activated all the time, I trust, and blocking all inbound traffic, so it's
unlikely that anyone would be able to do this remotely anyway.
