Standby/GreyedOUT!!

Anyone have an idea to fix why the standby/hibernate button is grey

found this by Googling--can't say if he's right, 'cause I've never had
the problem. Maybe it'll help, though:

Check if your PC stand by capabilities are enabled:
WinKey+Pause/SystemProperties/Hardware tab/Device Manger/Computer... should
be "ACPI Compliant PC." If it's "Standard PC" either you did not install XP
correctly or your hal.dll is corrupt. Google for "corrupt hal.dll" or such
for more info about it or stand by issues.
