Upon asking windows xp to go into standby the system
freezes on the blue 'saving settings' screen.
If the system goes into standby automatically, then it
will not wake up.
Anybody else experience this?

Hi,

Usually a driver issue. Have you updated any recently? If so, you may need
to rollback to the previous version in order to regain that function. If it
never worked, then you may need to update one or more. You should get your
drivers from the component makers, not the Windows Update site if at all
possible. Quite often, the ones offered there are not full sets and do not
support all functions of the system.

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Used to work, but
since friday, the system seems to access to the disk on a
regular basis and doesn't enter stand-by or hibernate
state.

I haven't install anything or perform any upgrade...
Just a defrag and a scan...So, no change to any driver...
