When I configure the TC / IP protocol on my Win2k PC,
( there is no difference, wether I get the IP or I choose an IP )
I get the message, more then one Standard Gateways .........,
but I only have the one for my router.
Network is working, but xquery with CYGWIN to my Linuxserver
and Sambashares aren very slow, but with an old win98 Laptop
I get normal speed connecting to the Linuxserver.

Has anyone an idea to solve the problem ?

Do you have a second NIC in the PC? Or was one removed without being
uninstalled from device manager?

No, there wasn't a second NIC in this PC. Two month ago the CPU ( AMD
ATHLON )
had a defect. With this CPU I couldn't establish a CYGWIN connection to
the Linuxserver
and Sambashares were very slow. After changing the CPU without changing
any configuration
I got a working CYGWIN connection and performant Sambashares. But I
cann't remember,
that I have changed anything in the configuration and have the
described problems.

Odd, have you examined device manager for network adapter contents. Also
use view show hidden. If push comes to shove, I would "uninstall" and
reinstall the adapter.
