Standby Option is Grayed Out during the Shutdown procedure.

You need to practice posting questions that have more information so
fewer questions will be asked.
Has Standby ever worked? If yes, what do you think has changed since
the last time it worked?
This problem can be caused by old or incompatible video drivers.
Right click My Computer, Properties, Device Manager. Expand
Computer. What does it say under that? It needs to say something
about ACPI.
Under Display adapters, you can try to update the driver, or go to the
WWW site of your video driver author and see if there is a later
version you can download and install. Maybe just letting Windows try
to update the driver will work.
Do you see any red Xs or yellow question marks in Device Manager -
like under Other devices? If you do, you need to resolve them.
