Using the professional version - at the welcome screen the appropriate
password is being entered and the screen continues to say "loading personal
settings". Anyway to get around this issue?

Hi,

How about in Safe mode? Does it do it there too?

See if it will load in safe mode (hitting F8 after bios), then if it does,
try cleaning out the startup folder & run msconfig to clean the startup there.

is this a new install or was it working prior to this? have you recently
installed any new software or hardware?

In a domain, where you have a roaming profile, I've seen this happen
when the profile is very large - I found FireFox 1.04 would create more
than 1GB of cache files for a user one time, and deleting the cache
didn't keep it fixed.

Most profiles, roaming, should be under 100MB, or the user should be
moving things to network shares, the home folder, or someplace outside
their profile.

Thank you to all. I was able to log in the safe mode and do some major
cleanup of the registry. Spyware was the ultimate culprit with a nasty
downloader found.
