Stalls during start-up

Guys-
During boot-up, Operating system stalls at the "Windows
2000 Professional" screen. Bars move across the bottom
to the end than all stops. No keyboard control, all you
can do is turn machine off. Same problem. Looks like a
file or something is missing. NO ERROR MESSAGES seen.
HD checks out OK.

Try a safe mode start. (F8 at startup)
