I went into Internet Options>Content and hit "Clear SSL State", and now I
can't access certain sites. How do I get this useful form of ID back?

Hi,

Are those "certain sites" secure sites? Clearing the SSL slate wouldn't
prevent them from loading, nor can you undo the clear. Close Internet
Explorer, then click start/run and type these in one at a time and hit
<enter>:

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll

You should get a successful message after each. Then retry opening secure
sites.
