For the past couple days the lock symbol that normally
appears in the corner of a secure site has not been
showing up. I can not order anything, do banking, pay
bills, etc... because I do not know how to begin
addressing this issue. Has anyone else had this happen
and will I ever be able to use my computer for anything
besides solitaire again?

Go to a secure site and right click anywhere on the page, select
'Properties' then 'Certificates' and view the SSL certificates (if there are
any) that way ...it's possible that the sites you got to use frames with
mixed content - in such case the little lock in the corner won't show.
