Hello...I just upgraded to Windows XP SR1a a couple days
ago.

When I click on a graphic file name, I see a small
thumbnail of it on the left side of the screen under
the "Details" section. This is very helpful. I also
used to get a thumbnail of my HTML documents and that was
extremely helpful to know which one I wanted to use.

But after loading SR1a, all I see in the Details section
on the left is the file name, what kind of file it is,
date modified and size (the same info you see if you are
in "View, Details" mode, which I usually am).

I've searched Help and Google and Microsoft Knowledge
Base and can't figure out how to get my HMTL preview
thumbnail back! Does anyone know?

I'd really appreciate any info.

Thank you very much.

Thank you, Mike. I guess I won't beat myself up trying
to find the fix anymore. Sigh. One of the reasons I
held off as long as I could was because I liked how
things were and didn't want to mess with it. If I hadn't
started getting a "Windows has recovered from a serious
error" on every bootup (after installing a program) and
System Restore didn't help, I would still be running the
original XP.

On the plus side, the refresh of icons that happens 2-3
times a day (gosh knows why) now goes a LOT faster! :)

Thanks so much,
Connie

P.S. Thanks for the article reference. Apparently, I
just wasn't searching on the right keyword.

No problem - honestly, I had a heck of a time finding it, too. :)

It is possible to turn it on again - I have it working, though I have
never really found it of any use. My memory of doing so is a bit faded,
but I think you will find this regedit will do it - it certainly will do
no harm

Awesome! Thanks Alex!
