SpywareBlaster

Kathy

Hi,

A friend has a computer that has some spyware problems.
Currently, she cannot go online to download things like
Spyware Blaster. "I" can use "my" system to go online
and wondered if there was a way for me to load that
software onto a CD so I/she can load the program on her
system without going online. Is this possible? If so,
how?

Thanks!
Kathy

Certainly, if you have a CD burner.
Suggest you download a bunch of programs so you can make
good use of a CD-R. Be sure to finalize the CD so it can be
read on a standard system and won't require any special
drivers to read.

You can save some time by downloading using the mirror at
www.majorgeeks.com just scroll to the spyware tools link on
the sidebar. You might also want to download the most
recent version of STINGER which is linked on MajorGeeks
under antivirus as McAfee AVERT STINGER
On the spyware tools page look for
Ad-Aware SE Personal and the plug-ins, SpyBot Search &
Destroy, and whatever else you think might be useful, such
as CWShredder and some of the other free tools.

You can install them from the CD, just like any software or
they may even run from the CD (Stinger).

And my hats is off to Kelly for reminding you to run the
updates, you can download them and burn them to the same
CD-R.

Kelly did you ride it out or leave? Any damage sustained?

Thanks, Jim.)

Moi? Run from a hurricane? Nope, born and raised here, we always ride them
out. Speaking of, we had a great hurricane party (my prayers to the less
fortunate). Had 16 extra's: plenty food and 'spirits'. <w>

Glad IVAN came ashore to the east so the wind was blowing
off-shore.

Yes - these things are all simple programs that you can download on your
machine, perhaps extract from zip files, and then burn to CD - take it
over and run from the CD. Suggestions on what to get - and links - at
www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm and at
