Spywareblaster - is it better than SpyBOt?

Hi Jan,

I think it may boil down to personal preference. Each program tends to
identify different files and programs as "spyware", at least in my
experience. I have not used Spywareblaster, but I have used Adaware and
Spybot extensively and find Spybot to be exceptional. It does tend to
have some slight performance issues such as hanging every now and then,
but other than that, I love it.

I do have both SpyBot and Adaware, and have had excellent results with them,
that is why I was wondering if perhaps adding SpyBlaster was a bit of
overkill. However, I see the difference between the programs, and how they
tend to compliment each other. I have installed the SpyBlaster and
monitoring it's performance along with the other two.

Thank you for your additional information and input. I truly appreciate it.

Jan :)

Just to update you, Ive been experimenting with Spyware Blaster and it
seems to work pretty well. Ive put it on some of my systems at work and
on my home pc. I did a scan with Ad Aware and Spybot...nothing out of
the ordinary found.

Glad to hear its working out for you.

One of the main reasons to use SpywareBlaster is that it stops those
annoying "installation" dialog boxes for things such as CometCursor
from appearing while you're online.
