Hello,
Recently, I have inherited some spyware or the like. I
have run CWShredder, Hijackthis, Ad Aware, and maybe
another with some success.
But I still get pop-ups upon startup and while browsing - -
MOSTLY POPUPS ABOUT SPYWARE and PC INFECTION! Other
times the popup contains --
http://www.sandboxer....
Any suggestions to finally put this Spyware foray behind
me?

I had the same problem. There are a couple of issues here:
1. Annoying spyware embedded in the machine
2. Failure of spyware programs to detect everything
First search all files for HOSTS file. Open with Notepad.
Make sure to uncheck if file association window want to
make Notepad the default association. Scroll to the
bottom of the HOSTS file and add as many entries of
annoying, offensive web sites as you wish. This is a way
of creating your own "black hole."
Format is this:
127.0.0.1 noadware.net
This will cause nothing to happen if ANYTHING attemps to
access that web site. The IP address is a loopback. I
chose NoAdware as an example because there is a belief
that it is a bogus site. Its popup is as offensive as the
ones it claims to block. Search computer for file
Omnigate.exe. This is spyware/malware utility that
produces a "phone home" for paypopup.com (enter that one
as a loopback address, too)
One way to find addresses for your black hole:
When the popup appears, press F11. This converts the
popup to a full screen browser. You now can right-click
away from the ad on the page and "View Source." write
down every web site in the code and enter them as black
hole entries. If you have trouble saving the HOSTS file
properly, you probably are using Zone Alwarm of some
other firewall that has a setting to "Lock the Hosts
File." Find that and uncheck it until you are through
making your changes, then reset the lock.
