Spyware Definition Version

It seems like my Spyware Definition Version is stuck on
version 5680. Even if I update it, it may change to say
5689, but when I select the update version again, it says
that it is updating from version 5680.

Can somebody please advise how to rectifiy this issue?

1)--check out this KB article which gives another route to determine the
definition versions actually in place on your machine:

Information about update files and how to determine whether you are on the
latest (technical)

2) There is an appearance bug.

Do this:

Go to File, Check for updates.

Observe what happens--do you see the lines that indicate an actual update
taking place, or does it just bring up the stars and say you are current?
After doing this, go to Help, About, and see what definition version is
there--it should be correct.
