Spyware and temporary internet files

I am using Trend Micro PC-cillin internet security. I did a "scan for
spyware" and it found about a dozen files. I checked each of them and then
clicked remove. All but two went away...SPYW_TRANSPOND.I and SPYW_GETSYS.A.
I tried several times and could not get them removed.

Then I went to the "Internet Options" dialog box and tried to delete all
temporary files and all cookies. My default web page had been changed to
"about:blank", and I was unable to click on any of the boxes, I tried, but it
was totally unresponsive.

I am getting annoying security warning pop-ups every couple of minutes, and
I get a warning message that my machine will be shutting down in 1 minute.
It hasn't actually shut down yet, but the message keeps popping up.

How can I fix this?

Go through the preparatory steps here -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Then go through TrendMicro's removal steps here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/grayware/ve_graywareDetails.asp?GNAME=SPYW_GETSYS.A

We're seeing a rash of antispywarebox.xxx malware over the last few
days. It is a Spywarequake type of infection and downloads the
Abetterinternet cr*p (your SPYW_GETSYS.A) along with lots of other
stuff. S!ri has updated his removal tool to cover the new variant, so
in addition to what TrendMicro says, I'd also do Method 1 here:

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
