My IE has something in it that makes every word "book" "advanta" "discover", and possibly others, into links to different companies (amazon, among others)

Originally I had the Google taskbar but now I've un-installed it and the problem still remains

Anyone can offer a hand? Thanks in advance.

A site I found in PC World has helped me a lot... it's
webroot.com and the software you get free (downloadable
version which you can later subscribe to updates for) is
called spysweeper. I have it scheduled to run at 4 a.m.
daily and without fail, at least 3 or so times a week there
are new adware or spyware software on my pc. I learned
from this that those two kinds of software hide traces in
hundreds of places, so maybe even deleting the toolbar left
traces. I really love this program, enough to subscribe,
and I'm cheap. I'd give it a try... can't hurt

Right click the IE icon | Properties | Advanced tab |
Make sure both of these are NOT checked.

 Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer)
