Spy Ware

I have been experimenting with AdAware 6.0, SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.1 and
Pest Patrol 4.2.0.51. They all seem to find the same intrusive pests but
interestingly enough they seem to target different specific programs.
AdAware only seems to find unwanted pests. SpyBot finds the pests in
additions to targeting Download Accelerator, IE activity log, shutdown log,
MS Office and WinZIp. Pest Patrol finds the pests and targets Download
Accelerator. Gator, alexia & Kazza are obvious pests but what about these
other programs? Anyone use a spyware program their satisfied with?

Always seek updates for each application before each use, even right out of
the box. Lately I and others have been recommending HijackThis (and posting
to recommended forum). It seems to be the only app able to detect such
nasties as IEPLUGIN (aka Intelligent Explorer):
