Hi to all,

I've a big problem with the print spool service. After starting my pc (win xp sp2) it starts to eat all my available memory and continue growing even if i'm not
printing at all.

I've read around about a troyan/virus with the same name but I think it's not my case since this spoolsv.exe is located in windows/system32 folder and I don't
have any other versions of this file in other folders.

Is there anyone that can help me to find out the cause of this problem? I hate to reformat my pc... :(

Best Regards
JB

Check to see if you have MS image writer files in the queue, if so
delete them.

I've not installed the MS Image Writer printer and I don't think I have any documents pending...where should I search for them?

Look in Printers & Faxes, if you have it there will be an icon "
Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" with the number of document in
the queue displayed [it should be zero]

I had this problem, and I discovered that there was apparently an
incompatibility with an NVidia service nvsv32.exe (or something like that).
I disabled it, and the spooler no longer eats up the CPU. I haven't found
why this worked, although I tried this procedure after reading something
about a possible problem with the NVidia driver. So far, I haven't missed
having the service enabled.
