Spoolersv.exe using 50% CPU at idle

I just turn computer on and task mgr shows spoolerv.exe process taking up
49-53% of the CPU usage while doing nothing on the computer. Obviously slows
whole system down. I end the process and CPU usage drops to 3-11% -- but you
can't print of course. Microsft Knowledge has article about what seems to be
same problem with a hot fix -- but only for Win 2000, not XP. Even after
ending process Restart then gives me same problem. Any ideas. I'm not
trying to print when this going on, computer is just sitting there and the
spooler is working this hard. Any ideas????
