spooler subsystem application needs to close

the spooler subsystem keeps shutting down I found and removed 2 viruses
(trojan keenval.a &.e) i believed to be the root of the printing problem but
it was not.
every time i restart the spool service it shuts down within seconds. cannot
use network printers or local printer either.
any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks but didn't need to do a repair, there were two instances of the
printer installed in the registry,
hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\print\windows nt
..86\drivers
just deleted the auto one and deleted the files and folders in
windows\system32\spool\printers
also deleted the extra printers in printers and faxes that were redundant or
not needed for this specific user
used kb article 324757 as a base reference
