spooler subsystem app error

K

Knute

I keep getting the spooler subsystem app has a problem
and needs to close when I try to set up a home network on
my computer. It is running XP sp1 and is connected to a
d-link wireless router. The other computer on the
network sees this computer fine and can access shared
resources. I just can't get the host computer to see the
other parts of the network. Please help!

Greetings Knute,

A fix is available by obtaining the latest service pack for Windows XP.
Download and install Service Pack 2 (SP2). This will also ensure you are
protecting yourself against the latest security issues by downloading the
latest updates and fixes to known problems.

A workground is to open the command prompt and type:

net stop spooler

Then run the Network Setup Wizard. After the Network Setup Wizard, then you
can restart the spooler service. Open the command prompt and type:

net start spooler
