splitting up clips that have just been split

is there a trick to get about a 5 second gap in between video clips...just a
black screen inbetween. the clip i made into 2 seperate ones always "stick"
together..

How about putting a black image file between the two video clips and set the
time to 5 seconds?

Create the image file in MS Paint or the like and save to a compatible
format for WMM.
