BTW is there an Administator? Or am I addressing to nobody?

There is no particular administrator for this group. There are
administrators for the MS newsgroups in general, but they don't read
every group by a long chalk.

Oh...so it's good as making a wish to nobody , sigh... I guess they have
the same problems or worst - there's just too much to browse thru -
unless perhaps there be a group called 'Attention-MS-Administrator'.
:)

I find replies as 'you post in the wrong newsgroup, go
away' not appropriate without answering the question at hand, however I
decided to ignore the completely off-topic questions for now.

If you just ignore the questions they'll come back next week and rant
about how Microsoft is ignoring them. And if you answer their
questions they'll see that their questions do get answered, so why
bother posting somewhere else even if you pointed it out to them?

That's the point of ignoring them for now. I mean, questions about
drag/drop, how to measure agp bandwith (come on!), mail merge with word (!)
and other fancy topics... :)

If someone gets annoyed because no-one answers his drag/drop question in the
C# newsgroup, I'm pretty sure no-one can please that fellow/gal enough
anyway..

I like the fact that this group is active. It means there are plenty
people around to answer so there aren't many messages that never get
any reply. Yes, there are a few posts that might be more appropriate
in the windowsforms, controls, and general groups, but most of those
involve C# code, in which case, this group isn't off topic.

Unless this group has charta -- and I'm afraid there's no such thing, at
least not according to USENET standards -- there is no way of exactly
telling what is OT. That's where we are :-(

I think the biggest "problem" here is that most of the posts in this
group are off-topic. This group is, as far as I know, about the C#
programming language only. A lot of people post general .NET
questions here (okay, I've been guilty of this in the past) that
should really be posted in 'microsoft.public.dotnet.general'.

It's a common problem in microsoft.public.dotnet.*. Many people tend to post
to groups according to a problem's "technology domain" (ASP.NET, C#, etc.),
not according to the problem's own domain (XML, Windows Forms, Server
Controls, etc.). IMHO it's plain stupid to post an XML specific question in
an ASP.NET group just because XML parsing is part of an ASP.NET page's
implementation.

Cheers,
