Split second freezing.

Hi everyone.
Within the last 2 months my PC has developed a split second freezing
problem. The problem is this. When i display the time clock the second hand
stops for a split second every 5 seconds and at the same time the hard drive
light will flash. Also when it is in screen saver mode of which i have the
stars coming towards me, this also freezes for a split second the same time
the hard drive light flashes. The big problem is when i try to view some
video stream. This is impossible now because it keep on having to re-buffer.
I run McAfee and my PC seems clean,BUT i did notice however that this problem
stared when i installed an upgraded version of McAfee.
Any ideas please. Thanks.
Kind regards,

One way to find out is turn off the AV program and see if the system works
smoothly.
Make sure "on close scanning" is turned off in AV program.

I have in the past on some AV programs experienced that turning off/exit the
AV does not turn off the scanners of said program.
Just makes it inacessable from taskbar.
You may need to open up the AV program and disable, ALL, file scanning
before turning it off.
McAfee is known for such things like this. The makers think you are too
stupid to know what you are doing.
I personally would never use McAfee. Or anything that may be engined with
McAfee.
But that is my personal preference.

Hi poatt, i understand, but what i did was completely uninstall McAfee from
my computer so there could be no doubt. Having found this not the problem i
reinstalled because of my subscription.
