MPEG1 is a lossy compression scheme, re-encoding, with MPEG1 or another
lossy encoder, will result in quality loss.

I didn't see the beginning of this thread, but to answer the topic,
it's simple - there are many file splitters out there. If the OP
can't find one, I can mount mine on my web site for download.
