Spellchecking

Can anyone tell me why, when running a spellcheck on an
email prior to sending it, is the default dictionary
language ALWAYS English (US) and not English (UK), as
selected in the Tools/Optioms/Spelling settings?

When I go to check that I have the correct settings
(Tools/Options/Spelling), it still shows as English (UK)
[which is what I'd like it to be!] - however, when
running the spellcheck on an email, it still reverts to
English (US)!!!???

Any ideas/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you using Word or Outlook as e-maileditor?

In Outlook set Tools/Options/Spelling tab...International
dictionaries-Language as English (U.K.)...and then also in Word go in to
Tools/Language/Set Language... select "English (U.K.) and then click on the
command button marked "Default..." this will allow your spellcheck to be
English (U.K.) in Outlook.

Good Luck

I have the same problem and had already tried what you suggest but it does not work. I think it is because I am using word as my email editor and the "Normal" template in word is set to the US English language. Does anyone know how to change language in the "Normal" template in word. I have created another template with UK English as the language but I am not sure how to get Outlook to look at that template rather than the Normal one.

In case anyone else looks at this thread, I have subsequently found the answer to my own question which is that you need to change the normal template in Word

You can do this by renaming the original "Normal" which shipped with Word with some other name e.g. "Oldnormal". Then save a new blank document to which you have applied the English language as "Normal". That fixed it for me.
