Spellchecker not working

When I sent messages and email's the spellchecker is not working. I get an
error message that says "the spellcheck has halted" and ask me if I want to
send anyway. How do I fix this?

I did go to the link and the link was of no help as I cannot find a
SharedFilesDir registry entry in my registry. I am running windows xp.
Any other Ideas??
