Spell check

I have word 2000 and I'm trying to spell check a doc that I downloaded from
the web. I enable the spell check and try to run it but doesn't catch any
errors. If I copy and past it somewhere else, doesn't catch either and says
that it checked all but what it was marked as not to check.
Does anyone knows how to enable the doc?

Have you followed the directions on the page to which Suzanne provided the
link? The instructions for Word 2003 applies to 2000 as well:
